My cousin Chauncey. He was a force. Family man, hunter extrodinare, hard working and only 30. I'll miss you at the hunting camp, telling stories that make your dad and Uncle Mark curse then laugh. If anything comes of your passing know that it is my promise to live every day to the fullest and love my family and friends with all I have. I hope you are in a heaven that is the wilderness you loved.

I haven't figured out the built in wifi on this new camera but I have figured out the Frankie loves boudin. Like prefers it over all else. I'm so proud. #meauxfontenot
The camera doesn't make the photographer. I think I proved this by using a 10mp camera for the past 10 years. But damn...nice new, state of the art equipment nice. I feel like I traded in my 1992 Toyota Corolla for a 2017 Porsche. Hard work and dedication pays off but the support from loved ones is the true fuel. Thank you @joliemeaux, @norrisfontenot & @phoebefontenot for always believing in me.
My old 40D may have a glitch
This week's @porch_wine_and_gravy post is about a a recent visit to the great Natchez, Mississippi. We fell in love with this 300 year old town. Check out why at @porch_wine_and_gravy #porchwineandgravy #visitnatchez
Life is good. Thank you @rogerkash for the filet and thank you @papapuff_nezat for the fresh caught red fish on the half shell. And thank you Old Smokey grill for being the best damn grill ever made. #meauxfontenot
Look my beautiful, smart, funny fiancé in the paper. Oh and she is a hell of a cook too. You can check out her food blog here @porch_wine_and_gravy
South of the Mississippi border on HWY 61. The address says St Francisville but it really is no where. It looks like it's where Rat Pack impersonators would go to retire. It's doesn't serve Mexican food, despite what you may think because of its name. #hwy61 #louisiana #luciusafontenotphotography
The two tiny ones are just chilling on this Saturday morning.
Check out @porch_wine_and_gravy and their new post. "Continuing our theme of rice & gravy this week we have 7 Steak Rice & Gravy. It's a favorite in Cajun County. It's so loved that my people at a whole pot while sitting on the porch on a hot humid summer day, like there is any other kind in Louisiana. Consider it like exercise you sweat off the calories as you consume them. Cajun Aerobics." Photo by @lucius_a_fontenot_photography #porchwineandgravy
July is my birthday day month. And J Burton's month long stint at the Blue Moon Saloon is in July. I can't help but feel this was a B-day gift from the indie music gods to me. C'mon!
Oh @joliemeaux has many great ideas- let's boil crabs and chill with friend in a kiddie pool for the 4th and he go take a picture of this crab and glass of champagne. Thank you darling for all your great ideas. #meauxfontenot
D.L. Mernard. Now 85. He is a great example of an American and the American dream. Born in Erath, Louisiana, French as his first language, he worked at a service station when he owned his million record selling song. The only Cajun song to ever sell that much. He toured the world, received many honors and awards such as the National Heritage Fellowship Award by the National Endowment for the Arts and multiple Grammy nominations. He met his hero Hank Williams and had music legends like Eric Clapton praise him. He has always been proud to be who he is- a Cajun from a small town and the people who know him love him greatly. The entire town of Erath came to honor him this past weekend. What more can you want in life? This is the American dream. True wealth. God bless DL Mernard and the United States of America.
